WEST JORDAN – On July 29, 2008 the world became a darker place. Paul Hales, age 61, loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away at home in West Jordan, Utah.
Paul was born July 7, 1947 in Ogden, Utah the son of John A. and Pauline Wright Hales. He attended Ben Lomond High School and Weber State University. Paul served two tours in Vietnam (US Army). Upon his return he started a new life with MarDene Beeton and together they had three children. He later married his sweetheart Laurie. Paul recently retired from Unisis after 33 years of employment.
Paul was a jack of all trades who loved NASCAR, trains, gardening, railroading and his dogs. But most of all he was a devoted father, grandfather and mentor. Paul will be greatly missed by his wife, Laurie; children: Erik (Tawny), Tracy, and Jennie; four beautiful grandchildren: Jordan, Kami, Jaden and Terrin; and his dogs: Maggie and Baron. He was preceded in death by his dog, Max.
Viewing was held Saturday August 2, 12 noon to 2 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home in Taylorsville, Utah.
